Under the guidance and direct supervision of the, Head, Strategic Partnerships, Policy Impact and Public Relations the Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Analyst will support the unit in the overall effort to Monitor and Evaluate the UN Women’s Flagship Programme Initiative (FPI) on “Women’s Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Energy” (Energy FPI). The Analyst will implement and improve upon the existing Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) strategy and develop new tools and procedures, take a lead in donor intelligence and facilitate in further developing the programme and building strategic partnerships with bi-lateral and multi-lateral donors.

Summary of Key Functions:
Improves and implements the programme’s strategies related to M&E;
Improves and implements the programme’s strategies related to partnerships building;
Facilitate knowledge building and knowledge sharing.
Improves and implements the programme’s strategies related to M&E, focusing on achievement of the following results:
Manage the M&E activities and reporting process for the UN Women Flagship Initiative (FPI) on Women’s Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Energy;
Support and facilitate the implementation of the Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Plan of the programme;
Manage the evaluations and quality assure the researches under the programme;
Support the research process through preliminary research and policy briefs and draft the Terms of Reference for the research studies;
Facilitate the programme’s Annual Work Planning process;
Monitor and report the progress of the programme against the programme’s log frame;
Facilitate and manage the Quarterly and Annual Reporting process of the programme;
Facilitate capacity building of the programme staff and partners on M&E.
Improves and implements the programme’s strategies related to partnerships building:
Facilitate the development of the programme and implementation of a donor intelligence strategy, Resource Mobilisation (RM) strategy, Client Relationship Management strategy under the supervision of direct supervisor;
Drafting and revision of agreements with donors. Monitoring of overall implementation of agreements;
Support the donor reporting for the programme in coordination with the programme team
Collaborate with the communications unit on advocacy initiatives for strategic positioning of the programme in the donor community.
Facilitate knowledge building and knowledge sharing as required by the organization, focusing on the following results:
Identification and synthesis of best practices and lessons learned;
Contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice;
Drafts, develops and tailors materials, publications, brochures, targeted at specific audiences, to support the programme;
Drafts speeches & presentations for senior management to be delivered to a range of audiences.

Education:
Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, International Development, Public Administration, Economics, Political Sciences or related field.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience at the national or international level with preferably 2 years of relevant experience in Monitoring and Evaluation;
Relevant experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects;
Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems and advanced programs for data analysis.
